Call of Duty Warzone Season 4 has landed with one of the most substantial patches of the year. Raven Software and Treyarch have collaborated on a sweeping update that touches weapon balance, map design, and core movement mechanics.

Weapon balance is the headline change. The MCW assault rifle receives a 12 percent reduction in maximum damage range, pulling it back from its dominant position in the long-range meta. Meanwhile, the Holger 26 LMG sees a recoil buff that makes it a viable alternative for players who favor sustained fire. Shotguns also get attention — the Lockwood 680 now has tighter pellet spread when ADS, rewarding players who take the time to aim rather than hip-fire.

Two new points of interest arrive on the Urzikstan map. Harbor District adds a dense coastal zone with tight sightlines and multi-story buildings, ideal for close-quarters combat. Solar Array, located in the map's north-west quadrant, features an open industrial layout with elevated platforms that reward snipers and marksman rifle users.

Movement is perhaps the most divisive change. Tac-Sprint duration is reduced by 20 percent, and slide-cancel momentum no longer fully resets sprint. The developers state the goal is to close the skill gap between controller and mouse-and-keyboard players by reducing the advantage of rapid input chaining. Early community feedback is mixed, but competitive players note the change encourages more deliberate positioning.

Additional quality-of-life improvements include a revamped ping system, faster loadout-drop timers, and a new post-match summary screen that tracks damage dealt, contracts completed, and placement trend over the last ten games. Season 4 is available now across all platforms.
